St patrick’s makes waves in education

St Patrick’s Mission High School, located in the Chiundura District, has emerged as a shining star in the education landscape of the Midlands province. The school’s recent ZIMSEC results have revealed an outstanding academic performance, placing it among the top-notch secondary schools in the country.

Six pupils from the little-known mission school achieved an impressive 15 points at A-Level, surpassing expectations and proving their academic prowess.

Leading the pack, Tafadzwa Kusosa achieved a remarkable 20 points while Muura Mutendi got an outstanding 19 points.

The success story does not end at the A-Level exams. At O-Level, Beloved Muzamba attained the highest marks with 11 As and 1 B, closely followed by Bruce Manika and Makanaka Mavhunga, who obtained 10 As and 2 Bs.

Mr Musindo, the school head, attributed these remarkable achievements to the dedication and collaborative efforts of both the students and teachers.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the unwavering commitment and hard work exhibited by our teachers, which has propelled our school to new heights of excellence,” he stated proudly.

“Even with dedicated teachers, without motivated students, our efforts would not yield such remarkable results. The students played a significant part that I am proud of,” he added.

Beyond academic excellence, St Patrick’s Mission School is also dedicated to nurturing pupils’ talents in sports and technical skills.

Recognising that every child possesses unique abilities, the school aims to provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for diverse career paths.

“We believe that not all students are gifted in the same way. Some excel in sports, while others require technical skills.

“Therefore, we offer a range of disciplines to cater to the diverse talents of our students, ensuring that each pupil finds their passion and develops it to a professional level,” Mr Musindo explained.

The school boasts a wide range of sport disciplines, including softball, handball, chess and various other popular sports.

In addition, the school offers technical curricula such as woodwork, building, poultry farming, gardening and textiles.
