RISING Afro-pop and R&B singer, Gail Davison, says her inspiration comes from superstars Beyonce and the late Whitney Houston.

Now based in Norton, the 24-year-old is confident she will fulfil her potential and become a star too.

She believes she made the right move when she left Warren Park and settled in Norton where she met her manager.

“When I moved to Norton, that is when I met Thelkool (Munyaradzi Zulu), my manager, who has given me a big helping hand in getting into music on a more professional level.

“Initially, I had worked on my first track with GuyGM and B5 but nothing tangible came up.

“I sing Afrobeat, Afropop and R&B music.

“To date, I have released three songs namely Izt True, featuring GuyGM, Radio and Kudhara ikoko with Thelkool,” she said.

Davison said, just like any other upcoming artist, she has been struggling for funds needed to help her fulfil her potential in the tough musical industry.

“The main challenge I am facing is having to fund my music. It is the reason why I have to keep pushing with my formal work.

“It is also a challenge to balance both music and work,” said Davison.

She added:

“I was inspired by Beyonce and Whitney Houston. I also sang with Natasha Muz at the Miss Business Beauty pageants.

“Given a chance, I would like to collaborate with Tamy Moyo.”

She went to Warren Park 6 Primary before she enrolled at Kambuzuma 1 High School for her Ordinary Level.

She did her Advanced Level at Warren Park 1 High.
