THREE men armed with an axe and hammer on Monday took turns to rape a local hospital student nurse at Granville Cemetery, popularly known as Mbudzi.
The 23 year-old married student nurse was walking along the road from work going home at around 9pm when she met the three unidentified men.
The three reportedly stopped the student nurse and ordered her to walk in front of them. They threatened to kill her if she was to refuse their orders.
When they reached Granville Cemetery, one of the accused person remained standing by the road whilst the other two took turns to rape their victim without protection.
The married student nurse lost her mobile itel P36 phone and was ordered to leave the place soon after being subjected to rape and she informed her husband. They lodged a report with the police.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case saying the victim was since referred to MSF Edith Clinic for medical examination.
“Police are investigating a rape case in Southlea Park involving a student nurse.
“The three accused persons got away with her mobile phone worth US$90 soon after raping her,” said Insp Chakanza.
