SUNGURA lovers are in for a real treat on December 7 when Romeo Gasa holds a Sungura Red Carpet party at Time & Jazz Café.
Initially, the event was supposed to be held tomorrow but was postponed so as to finalise on a few logistical issues which were still unsettled.
In an interview, businessman and music promoter Josh Hozheri who is behind the event said the red carpet affair was meant to promote sungura.
“You cannot talk about local music without mentioning the sungura music genre.
“A lot of people in Zimbabwe love sungura music but some cannot attend such shows due to the choice of venues where they are held.
“By hosting the red carpet affair at Time & Jazz Café, we are trying to send a message to the top executives and upper clientele that the genre also values excellency,” he said.
Speaking on the postponement of the event, Hozheri said the move was meant to ensure that all the outstanding logistical issues are put in place.
“We want the event to befit international standards and this can be achieved when all logistical issues are in place.
“We have made much progress in putting everything in order and what’s left now is confirmation from our guest of honour and I am certain that by Friday we will be knowing who the guest of honour is,” he said.
Hozheri also praised Gasa for professionalism ever since he was given the slot at the upmarket eatery and watering hole early this year.
“Romeo Gasa performs every Thursday at Time and Jazz and judging from numbers that come for his shows, his fan base is certainly growing.
“He is one of the artistes to look up to in the future that is why we have seen it fit for him to headline
