THE annual Mr and Ms Mufakose Bodybuilding and Modelling contest got a major boost after businesspeople from the high-density suburb came out to support the event.
It is scheduled for Rutendo Hall in Mufakose on Saturday.
The contest, which will be marking its second appearance after it was off the radar for 14-years, got support after organisers sent an SOS to the community.
Some of the partners and sponsors who have come out to support the initiative include LM Auctions, Feysied Solutions, Quantum Holdings and LM Pharmacy.
Mr and Ms Mufakose will see athletes battling it out in four main categories namely junior, senior, Open men’s competition and the bikini modelling category.
The junior men’s bodybuilding contest got the support from Supplement Factory, who have offered to sponsor some supplements and food hampers for the winners.
Supplements Factory representative, Kudzai Dera, said he is happy to be part of Mr Mufakose.
“I am very happy to be coming on board to support the annual Mufakose Bodybuilding and Modelling contest.
“We have been working with the organisers and this is a noble idea as this is a way to give back to the communities where we grew up.
“The good thing is the contest is growing with each passing year and we will continue to support these initiatives and I am grateful to Cardmelon Munatsi, who has welcomed us as Mufakose residents, in promoting the initiative,” said Dera.
Meanwhile, seasoned bodybuilder Simbarashe Mhaka is set to leave the country for Berlin, Germany for this year’s World Fitness Championships.
The multi award-winning hulk is expected to leave the country on October 30 for the contest set for November 5.
“I am now preparing for the 2023 World Fitness Championship to be held in Germany and I am happy that my training schedule is going on well.
“I have already started my diet and I am still appealing for support during this time so that I will be at my best when I go for the contest.”
