DEFENDING champions, FC Platinum, coach Lizwe Sweswe has called fans to remain optimistic as the title race continues.

The platinum miners, third on the standings, trail leaders CAPS United with five points after they were held to a goalless draw away at ZPC Kariba on Saturday.

And after the weekend results, Sweswe told H-Metro that his boys cannot be ruled out of the title race yet since there are still nine more games to play.

“Of course that’s our target, to retain the title and its game on,” said Sweswe.

Sweswe urged their supporters to be patient and understand the situation since the team is also participating in the CAF Champions League.

“Fans should keep their faith on the team and understand the situation we are in,” he added.

The FC Platinum coach said he will reshuffle his squad in the remaining fixtures as he tries to counter fatigue.

“Now I think we have rotated the players to give them enough rest, so I think we manage them well.

“One point in the bag, the boys did well especially looking at the congested fixture, what’s important is to manage them, in terms of recovery and good planning of training and games at the same time,” he said.
