Former Ngezi Platinum midfielder Gerald Takwara says he is happy to get another chance to play in South Africa.
Takwara, who once played for Ajax Cape Town, signed a two-year deal with Chippa United in the same country.
“I feel great and excited with the move because l got the opportunity to play again in South Africa.
“And it’s something I always wanted,” he said.
“I came for trials and they took me in.
“I’m just happy that I managed to make it into the team and I’m so grateful for the opportunity I got.”
Takwara said he enjoyed his stay at Ngezi.
“I had a wonderful run there, the people were great and the team work was on point.
“Unfortunately I couldn’t win any trophy but would never regret my stay there. I would’ve loved to stay there but l thought of moving on and to just go forward.
“In life you have to move on even though you’re comfortable at the place you’re at,” he said.
The defensive midfielder said he wants to do his best at his new team and is hoping for a national team call up.
“I hope to do my best in this league, do my all and be a better player than I was.
“I’m also hoping to get a national team call up once more.
“It’s been long since I was called to play for the national team and I’m hoping to win a trophy,” he said.
