ZPC Kariba coach Godfrey Tamirepi has demanded a response from his players ahead of their visit to Manica Diamonds at Vengere tomorrow.
Kariba have dropped five points in their past two games – a defeat to Ngezi Platinum and a draw against FC Platinum.
“As Kariba obviously we are looking forward to this game and this time around we need to make sure that we collect maximum points.
“From our previous two matches, we dropped points to Ngezi Platinum and FC Platinum respectively so this time we are aiming for a victory,” said Tamirepi.
And with games coming thick and fast, Tamirepi wants his men to flex muscles.
This reflects a different narrative to a coach who has tried to play mind games in the title race talk.
Kauya Katuruturu are in the title race as they sit on fourth position with 41 points, six points behind leaders CAPS United.
Tamirepi also said he is not going to underrate his opponents.
“We are not going to undermine our opponents because we are playing at their own backyard.
“And they are the ones who are under pressure because they want to win against us so this will make this game even more difficult since both teams need to quickly regain momentum,” he said.
The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture that was played at Nyamhunga at the beginning of the season.
“Every game is a new game and we cannot dwell much on that match, we need to focus on this one.
“In my approach, what we are going to do is to play with caution and play our game with respect.
“And we ask all our fans to come in numbers at Vengere despite our recent form, we promise them an entertaining match,” added Tamirepi.
