A SEND-OFF for 159 teachers, who are set to leave for Rwanda under the Government-to-Government bilateral agreement, was held at Morgan Zintec College yesterday.
The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare held a pre-departure briefing for the teachers.
Deputy Minister Lovemore Matuke then wished them well in their new teaching adventure.
“I wish you well as you go to represent our country in Rwanda.
“Be the Zimbabwean people we have known, who are hard-working, results oriented and uphold Zimbabwean values, ethics and norms,” he said.
“I call upon all of you to present a united front, determined to make a difference, and leave a trail of good work in Rwanda,
“Be your brother’s keeper in the foreign land and remember ‘I am because we are’ – Ubuntu.
“Go, therefore, and make us proud, lift the flag of Zimbabwe high.
“I trust all of you and the results will speak for themselves in Rwanda.”
