A TEENAGER drowned while swimming with his friends in Glendale on Wednesday.
Kudakwashe Jokwiro’s body was retrieved by the police Sub Aqua Unit.
The 18-year-old was reported to have visited his relative for the holidays and joined his three friends for a swimming trip.
His uncle, Denford Majiza, said the deceased will be laid to rest at Kambarami Village in Murewa.
“Kudakwashe was a loving chap who showed brilliance in academics and we were expecting a lot from him,” said Majiza.
“The mishap took place when he was in the company of his three friends and they were swimming.”
Heavy rains have been experienced in most parts of the country in the past two weeks and police have been warning people against crossing flooded rivers or attempting to swim in pools.
