WITH just two days left before the country celebrates Independence Day, all the focus will be on Buhera, which will to host the 44th edition of the Uhuru celebrations.
The children’s party and football jamboree will be part of the grand festivities.
Then, of course, there will be the musical gala at Murambinda B Primary School from 6 pm to 6 am.
Admission is free.
Household names headlining this year’s musical gala are sungura godfather Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria, Suluman Chimbetu and Sandra Ndebele.
DJ Fantan and the Chillspot Family’s clique of Levels and Ribhe have assured fans that they are coming to produce fireworks.
This will be the first time the clique will be performing in Buhera, according to DJ Fantan.
Kanindo exponent, Shantel Sithole, has been rewarded for her consistency with a slot at the gala.
Hard-working mbira artist, Diana “Mangwenya” Samkange, is one the female artists set to entertain revellers at the gala.
Revolutionary singers, Chief Hwenje and Last “Tambaoga” Chiangwa, are also part of the line-up.
They will be joined by Andy Muridzo, Argatha Murudzwa, Mathias Mhere, Bigboy Motsi, Takura, Simon Mutambi, Bio Mudimba and Mark Ngwazi.
It promises to be a fun-filled gala.
Traders in Buhera are expecting a business boom given that thousands of people are expected to converge at Murambinda.
Last year’s edition of the Independence Day celebrations was held in Mt Darwin, Mashonaland Central.
Traders reported brisk business.
