WARRIORS forward, Tino Kadewere, has warned his teammates against underrating Malawi in their second Group B AFCON match today.

Zimbabwe suffered a heartbreaking loss, in their opening game, when Senegal scored a last-gasp winner.

“We are well motivated for this game,” he said.

“We want to try and give the same spirit that we had, against Senegal, in this game.

“We don’t want to underrate our opponents, and we don’t want to go into this game saying it’s Malawi, that we had a good game against Senegal, so we can take this game for granted.

“As things stand in camp right now, everyone is very motivated and well focused for this game.”

Kadewere said it would be important for them to utilise the chances that come their way.

“I think we had our chances against Senegal but we could not utilise them.

“We don’t need to forget that we are professional players.

“Sometimes, a loss happens, we need to make sure that we keep our heads held high.”

The Warriors have not gone beyond the group stages, in the AFCON finals, since their debut in 2004.

“The aim is to make sure that we progress and make history.

“This is our third time consecutively at the AFCON finals and we are looking forward to making sure that we try to progress to the next stage,” he said.
