MUSICIAN Tanto Wavie said he is no longer bothered by other artists copying his style.
He says he used to be bothered by copycats but he now minds his own business.
“Every time people hear Trapsu or amasungura, you hear my name at the back of your head because everyone knows I created those sounds.
“The sound belongs to me, thus I am not worried about anyone stealing my style anymore,” he said.
Despite the challenges of maintaining authenticity in a crowded marketplace, Tanto Wavie believes that staying true to oneself is the key to success.
“I don’t make music for fame but it’s part of me that no one can steal.
“If other people want to copy and not give me credit, then that’s their choice because, at the end of the day, real fans will always know where the sound came from,” he added.
