TWO men from Retreat are on the run for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl since April.

The two, only identified as Eddie and Amon, vanished after a report was made to the police.

The multiple rapes came to light after the girl was interrogated by her mother when she started refusing to go to school.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, has appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of Eddie and  Amon.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving a minor in Retreat, Waterfalls,” said Insp Chakanza.

“On April 20 at around 3pm, the girl met the first accused person while on her way to fetch water at Kutapira Bar in Retreat, Waterfalls.

“The first accused person proposed love to the complainant and she accepted.

“On April 24 at around noon, the complainant met the first accused near Retreat Dam and he took her to his house where he raped her twice.

“After the abuse the girl went home and did not tell anyone about the incident.”

He added:

“On July 21 at around 1pm, the accused met the complainant going to fetch water and asked to have sex with her and she agreed.

“The accused took her to his house and raped her once.

“She went home and did not tell anyone about the                                                                                        incident.
