THE First Instance Board (FIB) has approved Vengere Stadium to host Premier Soccer League matches, a development that comes as a relief to newsboys Manica Diamonds, who have been rentng venues for their home matches.
Manica Diamonds resorted to Gibbo in Triangle because their home ground failed to meet the standard requirements to host top-flight matches.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Football Association highlighted that the use of the stadium was approved.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to inform you that following the re-inspection of Vengere stadium, the First Instance Body has resolved to provisionally homologate the stadium to host PSL matches,” read part of the statement.
There are only nine approved stadiums – Rufaro, Nations Sports Stadium, Barboufields, Luveve, Colliery, Gibbo, Nyamhunga, Mandava and Baobab and Vengere is now the tenth.
Mushowani, TelOne and Chapungu still struggles because their home grounds Trojan and Ascot needs approval to host PSL matches.
