TWO of the country’s top golfers, Scott and Kieran Vincent, have arrived home ahead of the FBC Zimbabwe Open, which gets underway at Royal Harare on Thursday.

The duo, who will be part of the four-day tournament, touched down at the Robert Mugabe International Airport in Harare yesterday.

Speaking soon after his arrival, Scott said he is happy to be back home after a year on the international circuit.

“It is good to be back home after over a year and it will be great to play in front of my family and countrymen. 

“The game is going to be tough but I am looking forward to the tournament.

“I am ready as I was working very hard ahead of the tournament. It is good to be playing back home where I know the course well.

“It has been a roller-coaster year for me and my brother as we are coming from Hong Kong.

“I am looking forward to the week and I am happy that the weather is favourable back home.”

Kieran said he is ready for the challenge.

“The Zimbabwe Open has good memories for me and it is something we always look forward to. 

“The game is going to be a tough one and we will try our best and go all the way.

“I am happy to be back in my country and we will try our best.”

The Vincent brothers are currently playing on the lucrative LIV Golf circuit where they have been doing well.

The remodelled Zim Open has FBC Holdings as the title sponsors for the third year running and has attracted 144 players.

Tournament director, Michael Mahachi, said:

“This is the first time that we have a strong contingent of Zimbabwean players at the event.”
