Warriors back at work

THE Warriors are today scheduled for a 3pm workout ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria at Huye Stadium on Sunday.

Sanity has since returned to the camp after the drama yesterday.

The Warriors boycotted training yesterday demanding their dues from the ZIFA Normalisation Committee.

While coach Baltemar Brito went to the bus at the agreed time, players remained in their rooms and after about 45 minutes the Highlanders FC mentor abandoned the mission and left the bus.

ZIFA had to run around to ensure they deposited the money into the players’ accounts late yesterday to avert another stand-off ahead of a big match against Nigeria.

As a result, all is set for this afternoon’s training. It will be the first time that Brito gets to work with the full team.

Some players arrived on the morning of Wednesday opener against Rwanda and did not train for the game.

The Warriors were hosted by the Zimbabwe ambassador to Rwanda on Thursday evening

After boycotting training earlier in the day, the Warriors were on Thursday evening hosted by the Zimbabwe ambassador to Rwanda, Professor Charity Manyeruke.
