Zimbabwe are hoping to get a positive result when they face Ethiopia away in their second match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers this afternoon.
Zdravko Logarusic’s men are coming from a goalless draw against South Africa last week and now eye maximum points.
Team manager Wellington Mpandare told H-Metro Sport yesterday that the boys are ready and raring to go.
“The team is ready for the game and we are hoping for a positive result,” said Mpandare.
Mpandare said the only setback ahead of the match is Tino Kadewere who withdrew from camp due to injury.
“Everyone is fine with the exception of Tino who is out of this game,” he added.
The team had one training session going into the match after encountering terrible pitch conditions.
“We arrived safely but didn’t train on the day because the training pitch was terrible.
“The team had their first training at the match venue (yesterday) at 4pm which is 3pm Zimbabwean time,” said Mpandare.
Indications are that the coach is going to make changes after a poor show by the team last week.
Some of the players expected to be given the nod include Jonah Fabisch, Ishmael Wadi and Perfect Chikwende.
