FRANCE’S Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims are in Warriors’ corner ahead of the Afcon finals which come to life in Egypt this Friday.
Reims yesterday posted, on Twitter, pictures of their players who will be in action at Afcon including their new acquisition Marshall Munetsi.
The post, which was captioned with Warriors fixtures, has been receiving endorsements from Warriors fans.
Sunday Chidzambwa’s men open their campaign at the Cairo International Stadium in the tournament opener against the hosts, Egypt.
They then play Uganda next Wednesday before completing their group stage matches with a date against DR Congo on June 30.
Zimbabwe, who are appearing at the tournament for the fourth time, are targeting to go beyond group stages.
Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare reiterated the boys are geared for the Egypt encounter and they have promised their fans a positive result.
“Like I have said, the boys are looking forward to the Friday game against Egypt. It is a big game to them and they are geared up for a positive result,” said Mpandare.
Coach Chidzambwa is hoping to have one of his star players Khama Billiat back to full fitness as he plans to stop a Mo Salah inspired Egypt.
Warriors fans have expressed optimism on various social media platforms that their team is not in Egypt to add numbers.
