HIGHLANDERS technical manager Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh believes his side deserved to win the Chibuku Super Cup.
Bosso beat Ngezi Platinum 1-0 in a final that was played at Barbourfields on Saturday.
Prince Dube’s solitary goal on the stroke of half time was enough for Bulawayo giants to clinch the title booking a place in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup.
“I’m very happy that we won. We played disciplined football.
“I’m a champion this is the first time we won the title. I hail the boys for this good work. We deserve this. ” said Pieter.
Ngezi dominated the entire second half but Highlanders held their own.
Losing coach Rodwell Dhlakama praised his team and believes that they were robbed.
“We played very well our game plan worked but that goal which was given, to me it’s daylight robbery.
How can someone give a goal like that? I have to accept what the match officials said but the world saw what happened today. ” he said
