CHICKEN Inn midfielder Tichaona Chipunza says they underrated Manica Diamonds which saw them blowing a chance to go top of the standings.
The Gamecocks lost 2-0 to Manica at Luveve in a Premiership encounter played on Saturday.
“Everyone is upset and it’s embarrassing losing 2 nil at home considering previous games we picked points.
“Players were relaxed thinking it was an obvious win by judging the team before we played them.
“Also we had a slow start to the game that’s why we conceded in the first minute and also the red card in the first half it affected us as well,” said Chipunza.
The midfielder also highlighted that they missed a glorious chance to go on the top of the table.
“Everyone is affected because everyone knows the position we are at the table but it’s a wakeup call to every player and as a team to work extra hard because we still have 12 games to play.
“What we need now is to focus and treat every game with lot of respect not to undermine teams we are playing because those small teams will surprise you,” he said.
Chicken Inn defeat means they remain third on the standings with 38 points, two behind leaders ZPC Kariba.
