ZIMBABWE’S first-ever lifestyle tabloid turned a year older this month.
It’s yet another refreshing milestone for the readers and members of staff who are loyal to this product.
Our first publication went live on Monday 7 September 2009, which makes it 14 years of serving our readers and advertisers.
It has been quite an amazing journey for this newspaper whose founding Editor was Lawrence Moyo.
He passed on the baton to current Editor, Robson Sharuko, in December 2021.
Moyo is now heading Zimpapers Sport.
Zimpapers Group Design Editor Rungano Gwanzura, who also does the role of the Chief Sub-Editor, Senior Sub-Editor Gilbert Nhamburo, Content Coordinator Trust Khosa, Photographers, Lee Maidza and Takawira “Photovet” Dapi, are the only remaining members of the team which founded H-Metro at the publication today.
As we mark yet another milestone, we would like to thank our readers, advertisers, management and staff for their contribution in keeping H-Metro alive.
We are grateful to various stakeholders for having faith in H-Metro.
In this digital era, we have encountered a number of challenges, brought about by the changing world, but we have adjusted and continue to provide relevant and fresh content for our readers.
Our social media handles are the go to platforms for the latest in light news.
The engagement and feedback we are getting from our readers online show that H-Metro remains the people’s newspaper.
This means we have a responsibility to tackle social issues haunting our society.
We have taken a lead in raising awareness against the violation of women’s and children’s rights.
The paper has also been applauded for raising awareness against gender-based violence as well as fighting drug and substance abuse.
Your support remains invaluable and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership.
As we celebrate our 14th birthday, we still value our readers’ feedback and recommendations, which have made H-Metro the paper of choice.
On that note, we would like to thank you for your support as we celebrate our latest birthday.
