WHAT IF THE GLAMOUR BOYS LOSE ONCE AGAIN?

WHAT if homeless Dynamos lose again this weekend when they return to Barbourfields for a date against unpredictable Hwange?

That will be a third defeat on the trot, since the season opened, and when that happens at the Glamour Boys, it is usually accompanied by consequences.

DeMbare closed the season in style last year when they beat league champions Ngezi Platinum at Baobab to win the Chibuku Super Cup.

That success story triggered expectations, in the Dynamos camp, that the Glamour Boys could this year finally secure the league championship after a 10-year wait.

But, then, as is usually the case at DeMbare, the club was rocked by in-house turbulence leading to the sacking of vice-chairman Vincent Chawonza.

The decision rocked their boat, splitting their players into two camps, and this has complicated the work which coach Genesis Mangombe is doing at the club.

Midfielder Junior Makunike’s decision to dump Dynamos, after he was offered only US$1 000 to extend his stay, has left a huge role in the Glamour Boys midfield.

The defeat at the hands of Highlanders in the opening league match exposed the DeMbare midfield and showed the value they lost when they let Makunike leave.

If they lose again on Sunday when they take on Hwange, their house could be shaken to the core and not even the coach can say he would be safe.

“Hwange is always a tricky side, we have been working on how they play and exploring ways on how we are going to manoeuver especially in the attacking third,” said Mangombe.

“We need to start collecting maximum points and, looking at our opponent, they collected maximum against Yadah, they will want to maintain that fine run.

“They also have what it takes and the experience in their squad so we need to be prepared for this game and with what we have been doing, I am sure we are ready.”

Hwange roped in the services of the experienced Gift Mbweti, who marked his return to Chipangano by scoring their winning goal against Yadah.
