A Domboshava woman has been granted a peace order against her troublesome husband.

Tinanshe Mukokane said her husband, Tapfumaneyi Murengwa, was in the habit of insulting, assaulting and chasing her from their matrimonial home.

“He chases me away from our house. I want him to stop abusing me so that I can return home,” said Tinashe.

Murengwa said he chased Tinashe from the house after she returned home late.

“We were together on our way home from a funeral and then went separate ways. I got home first and she only arrived in the early hours of the following day.

“I asked her where she was and she ignored me, and I told her to go back where she was.

“The house belongs to my first wife and I no longer want Tinashe there,” said Tapfumaneyi.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Tinashe the peace order and ordered Tapfumaneyi to stop verbally and physically abusing his wife and to allow her to return to their matrimonial home until the matter is settled in the family.

She also advised the couple to resolve their issues amicably and seek the assistance of their families or a marriage counsellor if necessary.
