CHAPUNGU star Phillip Marufu says they are only thinking about the relegation fight than the character of the immediate opposition.
They face log leaders FC Platinum at Mandava on Saturday.
“Going into our next game, an away match, we are just hoping for survival.
“We want to do better in our next encounter. We are going to play this match like it’s a cup final and we want a better result,” Marufu told H-Metro.
“We are playing the log leaders and it’s a tricky encounter. You don’t need the coach to tell you to pull up your socks. You know that you have to rise up to the occasion personally.
“We refuse to give three points away without a proper fight. We are more than willing to defend (our pride) against the log leaders.
“We are going to let hard work and unity prevail. We need a better result from this match to boost our confidence.”
Chapungu are fifth from bottom with 21 points, just two above the team that occupies the last relegation spot.
“Things haven’t been great on our side. We are still fighting hard to survive relegation.
“We don’t want to be relegated, nobody wants that. We still want life in the top flight league.
“We are going to do all we can to make sure that we don’t sink. We still have a lot of ground to cover and we are not far away from relegation,” Marufu said.
