CHAMPIONS FC Platinum goalkeeper Petros Mhari said their 1-0 win over runners up Ngezi Platinum on Saturday at Mandava was an icing on the cake.
FC Platinum went into the match already confirmed the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League winners.
Norman Mapeza and his men were officially handed their title on Saturday while the runners up Ngezi were also handed their silver wears.
“The game was good, it was a game of two halves.
“We won the match and it was like adding an ice on top of a cake. We wanted to be crowned in style and I am glad we did that,” said Mhari.
“We did well and we just wanted the moment to keep on flowing.
“We wanted it to be magical, so that no one will steal our precious moments.
“We raised up to the occasion as a team and we managed to attain a positive result,” added Mhari.
Mhari said winning the game was part of their targets.
“We needed that win, we have our targets as a team and winning that game was part of the plan.
“We completed a double over them, we were not trying to send any massage to them, we just wanted to keep the winning formula.
“We need to keep on doing well, to achieve more, I need more trophies and always being a winner,”he said.
Mhari said he is content with this season’s performance.
“This was a good season I cannot complain being champions with two games to spare.
“There is nothing more I can wish for.
Now what is left for me is to keep on doing well,” added Mhari.
The Zvishavane-based side now shifts focus to the CAF Champions League and coach Norman Mapeza has already unveiled his squad.
They begin the campaign end of this month with a trip to Madagascar.
