WINKY D will tonight renew his romance with his fans in the capital when he performs at Wood Pub & Grill.
Formerly Club 1+1, the Ninja president’s show at this upmarket joint, housed at Long Cheng Plaza, coincides with the 38th birthday of his childhood friend DJ Flevah.
He will be supported by resident wheel-spinners – C-Skillz, Mc Tatts, Butler, Danny Vybz, Andile, Coop Klique and Judgment Yard.
Show coordinators, Eddie Chagonda and Francis “Papa” Dzengere, said it was all systems go, for tonight’s double celebration.
“We are glad to be hosting Winky D’s show, whose major highlight is DJ Flevah’s much-hyped birthday.
“DJ Flevah, the face of the mighty Judgement Yard, has decided to celebrate his birthday in style at our venue and we are proud to be associated with him.
“We are simply fulfilling the promise we made to fans this year that we will continue giving merry-makers high-profile shows.
“As we promised in January this year, we will make sure that we host high-profile gigs, having started with Jah Prayzah last month, and now Winky D.
“We can’t afford to disappoint merry-makers as trend-setters in the game, hence we are holding these gigs,” he said.
“We are also grateful to be hosting Winky D, who will be supported by his childhood friend and, of course, resident DJs.
“We are looking forward to this great show that will certainly usher Hararians into a bright weekend.”
DJ Flevah, who parted ways with his other ‘half’ Etherton, assured fans of a show to remember.
“I’m happy to be celebrating another gift of life this Friday (tonight) with the people who have become family to me.
“Winky and I are more than brothers because we share the same vision and philosophy.
“We are both February babies and it was easy for me to convince him to be part of this event,” he said.
