A SUSPECTED land baron Tawanda Jambwa has been dragged to the Civil Court by his ex-wife Kudzai Rukiya who is accusing him of threatening to sell their matrimonial house to raise money to cover up for a fraud case.
Jambwa recently appeared at the Harare Magistrates Courts facing fraud charges.
Now, his ex-wife is accusing him of threatening to sell their matrimonial home to allegedly cover up for the fraud case.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom dismissed the application claiming that their issue was not a domestic violence case.
The magistrate advised Rukiya to seek legal help.
She claimed that, together with Jambwa, they acquired a property worth US$9 500 when they were still staying together.
She said the property was sold by Jambwa despite her protests.
“Later he bought another stand where we are staying with my children.
“When he got to know about my extra-marital affair he left me and married another woman.
“Now, Jambwa comes to my house with buyers claiming he wants to sell the house so that he can recover money to repay people who fell into his fraud trap.
“This is our matrimonial property and he should not sell it, he should sell the stand which he bought for his girlfriend and the one he got for his current wife to raise the money to pay his debts.”
Rukiya saqid:
“I have other pending court cases waiting for me and l need to settle these issues.
“If l sell this house, they will relocate and stay at our other stand.
“I cannot be arrested when l have a house that l can sell to raise money.
“This house must be sold so that l can cover my debts.”
