A HARARE woman is clashing with her late husband’s girlfriend for disturbing her peace.

Chipo Rukode accused Noreen Chinengundu of being responsible for the death of their husband.

Noreen has since approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a peace order against Chipo.

She is citing verbal and emotional abuse.

“Chipo sent me text messages claiming I killed our husband and she also mocks me because I couldn’t give my husband children.

“She is always disturbing me from going to work since she enjoys dragging me to court on a weekly basis.

“She is fighting for my late husband’s property because she has children with him.

“She claims that my husband paid lobola for her when he did not, she was just his girlfriend,” said Noreen.

In defence, Chipo said:

“All she is saying are lies.

“When l approached the courts, it was because I wanted my certificate of customary marriage and my late child’s death certificate, which our hubby left with her, before he passed on.

“I never called her to insult her, instead she calls my child and insults her.

“About the said property, I was summoned to represent my child by the Master of the High Court for the sharing of the deceased properties.”

Magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the peace order in Noreen’s favour. Chipo was ordered to maintain peace all the time and never to call Noreen.
