PRINCE Chigwida, a member of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Mbungo, has released his second album titled Nditakure after getting the backing from his church.
The 24-year-old, who fronts The Perfect Generation Band, said he owes everything to God and his church.
Chigwida’s new album – Nditakure – is singer’s second gospel effort after his debut Dziva Rekupona released last year.
“The album is in line with the church’s doctrine and since we are from Mbungo, our music is a mixture of drum beats and other instruments.
“The music is the same with Lucky Chikuwa although we fused congas, trumpets and brass instruments.
“We have improvised to ensure we cater for various audiences.
“Chikuwa does his own and we are doing our own but we are supported zvakanyanya by the church,” he said.
Chigwida said he has picked some notes from Obert Chari of the Mebo fame.
“I normally perform alongside Obert Chari and I have learnt a lot from.
“This is my second album and we are yet to do videos,” he said.
The Kadoma based artiste also gives credit to Chari’s producer Mambo Hermas.
“We are doing well and the response of our music is overwhelming since we started.
“Mambo Hermas our producer has helped us to scale these heights.
“Hermas helped artistes in the area including Chari to be what he is today but despite our own efforts we put God first,” he said.
Chigwida said he was inspired Leonard Dembo and Charles Charamba among other established musicians.
Some of the songs off Chigwida’s projects include Inzwi Renyu Ishe, Zion nditakure, Murume wangu, Nhundu and Mugota.
