Zimbabwe football association (ZIFA) president Felton Kamambo said he is happy with the possible resumption of football in the country.
Kamambo said this at a press conference in the capital on Monday.
This comes after Sports minister Kirsty Coventry had said they wrote a proposal to ZIFA but hasn’t reached any agreement and hinted they would give the timeline possibly next week.
Kamambo said they have grey areas they are yet to address in the proposal but said he is happy with the process.
“We are happy with the progress.
“As we all know football is life and what we have been missing is now coming back.
“I hope it will be also exciting to know that we will be going back to our football fields in the near future,” said Kamambo.
ZIFA president Felton Kamambo says football return has been agreed in principle, just the finer details and plans that need to be worked out.
The SRC has pledged its ministerial support and are also looking forward to bring back the smiles on the soccer lovers.
All the three parties are looking for the best way on how to come up with the best solution and map a way forward for the football resume.
No timeline was mentioned at the press conference.
