A Zimbabwean author and motivational speaker based in Canada has made it into the Guiness Book of Records.
Lucy Ruth, a motivational speaker, is making strides through her voice.
“I am a Guinness World Record participant and four of my ebooks have made it to number 1 best sellers 5X on Amazon and also number 1 New Release titles.
“I am multi-talented and passionate about empowering the community and I work in a lab as an advanced lab technician where I help people improve their vision with prescription contact lenses,” she said.
Lucy’s personal story changed at the age of ten when she lost her mother to suicide in Zimbabwe.
“I struggled with depression and felt alone because depression was not a topic people discussed in Zimbabwe.
“This birthed a desire to connect with people, having lived and worked in three continents: Africa, Europe and now North America, I have been exposed to different cultures and experiences.
“I have also seen a common thread in every place where I have lived; the challenges people face are the same.
“I have a vision to empower young people to believe in themselves and chase their dreams,” she added.
The mother of three is the founder of an online business selling African heritage products, a part of the Toronto Women’s Expo 2020 organising committee.
“I am the voice for those who cannot stand up for themselves and I have racked up an incredible and varied list of accomplishments some of which include, Keynote Speaker for the Welland Black History Month 2019, Keynote Speaker for Mother’s Day at K.I.M Toronto, Speaker at Grand Valley Women’s Prison, Speaker at Women’s Economic Forum London 2019, Speaker at Edo Women Conference Jan 2020, Guest on NeboTV speaking on mental health, Guest on AriseF.M. (ChristianRadio) among others.”
She has also been an award Nominee for Women making an impact Egypt March 2020, Remarkable Mother’s Award May 2020, Universal Women of Influence Oct 2020 and Tallberg/Global Leadership price Nov 2020.
