A NUMBER of Zimbabwean footballers plying their trade in South Africa’s Absa Premiership were on the spotlight over the weekend as they scored for their respective teams.
Bidvest Wits star Terrence Dzvukamanja, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande, Orlando Pirates’ Kudakwashe Mahachi, Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa and Polokwane City forward Walter Musona were all on target.
Mahachi came from the bench to score his first goal of the season in five appearances as they drew 2-2 against Highlands Park.
Katsande scored Chiefs’ solitary goal as they lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns bringing his goals to two in 14 appearances for Amakhosi this campaign.
He later came off injured.
Dzvukamanja was also on target as his team won 2-1 over Free State Stars tallying his goals to two in 12 appearances.
Mutizwa scored against Maritzburg United tallying his goals to two in 16 appearances.
Musona scored a brace against AmaZulu as they won 3-2 and has three goals in 12 matches.
Mahachi dedicated his goal to his late mother who passed on last month.
“I want to dedicate this goal to my mother.
“I was reading the game from the bench and I want to thank my coaches for giving me a good run. I am glad that I came on and scored,” he said.
