Zimstars Awards founder Tinashe Mandlokuwa says this year’s edition of the awards set for November 27 in Gweru will be bigger and better.

The initiative was founded last year.

The 20-year-old said the idea is to award achievers in the arts and culture industry.

“We have managed to improve through experiences and lessons learnt from last year.

“This year we were able to get support and sponsorship from Milan Restaurant, Sphuzo Mansion, The Decibel Trust, Indie Artsy Visuals and Mukukuzvi,” said Tinashe.

“This year’s event we are hosting a dinner show at Milan family Restaurant in Gweru and we are going to be having performances from some of the best musicians in Zimbabwe who are yet to be announced,” added Tinashe.

Nominees for the awards are already out and voting is in progress on the ZimStars website.

A total of 34 awards and 80 nominees will be vying for gongs in the, music and poetry category, film and television category, fashion and culture categories.
