THE Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency has launched a Household Budget Survey Listing exercise to identify households for the Quarterly Labour-Force Survey.

The exercise will run until next Thursday and its main objective is to select households that will be covered in the Household Budget Survey.

The survey, conducted under the Census and Statistics Act, seeks to provide data on consumer price index weights, poverty prevalence, and the contribution of the informal sector to GDP for policy and decision-making purposes.

ZimStat is carrying out the listing exercise in all provinces and assures confidentiality and statistical purposes only used for the collected information.

“The information collected during the listing of households includes status of residential and non-residential structures, occupation status of dwellings, number of households in structure and names of heads of households.

“For ease of identification, our field personnel will be carrying official letters and personal Identity Cards.

“ZimStat seeks cooperation from all households and more information about the listing exercise can be obtained from ZimStat provincial statisticians.”

ZimStat is the Government’s statistical agency tasked with producing timely, accurate, reliable and relevant statistics for evidence-based policy and decision-making.
