The man who reportedly shot the Zupco bus conductor was yesterday dragged to court to answer to murder, theft and unlawful discharge of a firearm charges.
The suspect Campion Marowa 47, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi who remanded him in custody.
The court heard that on September 13 at around 9pm, Marowa boarded a ZUPCO bus fleet number 359 registered ACL 3930 in which the now deceased was a conductor.
Marowa was armed with a 38 Astra Revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition.
The court heard that when the bus reached its destination Marowa was one of the last passengers who were to disembark then he pulled out the loaded revolver which he pointed at the now deceased and shot her in the head.
After pulling the trigger, Marowa disappeared into the night.
He removed the cartridge and dumped it along Samora Machel Avenue stashed by the Harare Polytechnic precast wall.
He then proceeded to 9 Rudland Avenue in Belvedere where he dumped the gun in the toilet.
He later advised his supervisor that he had left the gun in the toilet.
Marowa is also being accused of stealing 25 liters of diesel from Eagle Liner Buses at 9 Rudland Belvedere where he was performing guard duties.
